„Family – Child with Autism – Specialist Relationship”, In Bacău

Wednesday, 6 April 2016, the campaign entitled “Autism colours the world differently” unfolded at present in the Eparchy of Roman and Bacău continued with a workshop at “Vasile Alecsandri” University of Bacău.

Students in occupational and physiotherapy participated in the action entitled „Family-child with autism – specialist relationship”, under the supervision of Prof. Gabriel Mareş.

“We chose this subject of discussion because the relationship created between family, child, and the specialist is very important in the process of rehabilitation. A physiotherapist, a social worker, a psychologist, and an occupational therapist participated in this workshop on behalf of “Bishop Melchisedec” Foundation, Rev. Fr. Eugen Ciuche, from the Communication Department of the Eparchy underlined.

The participants have also discussed in detail both about the therapies helping the rehabilitation of the child suffering from autism and about the difficulties emerging during the therapeutic process. Part of the students present had already practiced within the Daily Centre of “Saints Cosma and Damian” for persons suffering from autism, so that they were familiar with the methods of work and activities applied within an individual programme of rehabilitation.

Those present were also interested in details on the complementary therapies and their role in improving the general state of the child.
