His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received Monday, 25 January 2016, the visit of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, at his patriarchal residence in Chambésy.

During the visit, the Patriarch Daniel granted St John Chrysostom Order of the Romanian Patriarchate, the Commemorative Medal and an icon depicting Saint John Chrysostom to His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. We mention that the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church declared the year 2015 a Commemorative Year of Saint John Chrysostom and of the Great Spiritual Shepherds within Eparchies.

The Ecumenical Patriarch expressed his gratitude for the gifts he received and his appreciation for the contribution of the delegation of the Romanian Patriarchate at the works of the Synaxis of the Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches, which is currently held in Chambésy, Switzerland.
