Cooperation and exchange of experience between the Russian and the Romanian Orthodox Churches

His Eminence Hon Metropolitan Nifon, Archbishop of Târgovişte and Patriarchal Exarch, participated as a delegate of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, in the festive events to mark the 70th birthday of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia, from 19 November to 22 November 2016.

The events were opened by the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Cathedral Christ the Saviour in Moscow. Orthodox Primates and delegates of Orthodox Churches concelebrated.

His Beatitude Kirill welcomed Tuesday, 22 November 2016, the delegate of the Romanian Patriarch at the patriarchal residence at Danilov Monastery in Moscow. His Beatitude thanked for participation and for the congratulatory message on behalf of the Patriarch of Romania and pointed out the importance of the relations between the two sister Orthodox Churches. Furthermore, Patriarch Kiril noted the need for exchange of experience between theological educational institutions of the two Churches. He also emphasised the benefit of maintaining good relations between monasteries, taking into the account that monasticism in the two countries in well organised and has a special contribution to the intensification of the spiritual life of the people.

The festivities concluded with a concert held in the festivity hall, at the basement of the Christ the Saviour Cathedral.
