Children become bright torches of spiritual life through Christian education, Patriarch Daniel says

The eighth edition of the cultural and artistic performance Saint Nicholas among children took place Monday, 5 December 2016, at the Patriarchal Palace in Bucharest, in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.

The performance was held in two sections and had three mini-carols concerts and three mini-plays.

Referring to the educational role of this performance, Patriarch Daniel said that religious education proves its crucial formative valence, by modelling characters in order to cultivate communion, solidarity, diligence, generosity, joy and human dignity.

The Patriarch went on to say that the children who performed succeeded to bring forth the spiritual joy of the Nativity Feast. Furthermore, His Beatitude said that carols and religious poems and plays are offered as spiritual gifts.

Proceeding in the light of the knowledge of God, through Christian education, children become bright torches of spiritual life, living examples and true confessors of the Christ’s Gospel of the merciful love shown towards all humans, Patriarch Daniel added.

The event was organised by the Youth and Education Department of the Archdiocese of Bucharest.
