Following the Divine Liturgy celebrated Monday at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest, His Grace Bishop Varlaam of Ploiesti offered thanksgiving prayers on the 11th anniversary of the Basilica Media Centre.
His Grace Bishop Varlaam is an assistant bishop to the Romanian Patriarch, the secretary of the Holy Synod, and the coordinator of the Basilica Media Centre.
The Doxology was attended by the Media Centre’s staff, as well as many believers.
The Basilica Media Centre cultivates joy, love, peace and harmony
‘Our Media Centre cultivates joy, love among people, peace, and harmony through positive news articles, through music destined to bring peace and spiritual balance to the listeners in a time when we face many overwhelming difficulties,’ Bishop Varlaam said May 28.
In his speech delivered at the end of the Doxology, His Grace pointed to the efforts of the employees of the five departments of the Basilica Media Centre.
‘We strive to serve the faithful and not only them, but all those who happen to hear or read by chance or by will what the staff of the five departments of the Basilica Media Centre write and produce.’
Bishop Varlaam said that gratitude is due to Patriarch Daniel who supported the establishment and the development of the Orthodox media institutions since his ministry as Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bukovina.
In his speech, the patriarchal auxiliary bishop recalled that this year Radio Trinitas celebrated its 20th anniversary, and that the Basilica News Agency will soon celebrate its 10th anniversary of online ministry.
