His Eminence Andrei, Metropolitan of Cluj, Maramureş and Sălaj, addressed Thursday, 8 December 2016, the faithful present at Rohia Monastery to commemorate Archbishop Justinian Chira. He was a great spiritual father, who guided many faithful on the path to God, His Eminence said. Metropolitan Andrei delivered a homily after the Divine Liturgy and the memorial service officiated 40 days after Archbishop Justinian Chira passed away to the Lord.
Hierarchs, priests and believers prayed Thursday at Rohia Monastery for the rest of the soul of Archbishop Justinian Chira.
His Eminence Andrei, Metropolitan of Cluj and locum tenens of Maramureş and Sătmar, presided over the Divine Liturgy and the memorial service. Their Graces Lucian, Bishop of Caransebeş, and Justin of Sighet, Assistant Hierarch to the Diocese of Maramureş and Sătmar, concelebrated.
Metropolitan Andrei said in his homily that Archbishop Justinian was a great spiritual father:
He, the great spiritual father and Archbishop Justinian, was a man with a particular understanding of divine things, but displayed a right judgement of human things, knowing how to guide others on the path to God, free from dangers.
Metropolitan Andrei confessed his belief that Archbishop Justinian dwells among the righteous and entreats Christ for all sinners.
In his turn, Bishop Lucian expressed his gratitude for Archbishop Justinian, who was an example for younger bishops to love all people and be authentic fathers for our faithful, who pursue salvation and the kingdom of Heaven.

Archbishop Justinian passed away to the Lord on 30 October 2016, at the age of 95, after a long cultural and pastoral activity. In his message of condolence, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel called him “a struggling bishop, a dynamic pastor and a devout liturgical servant”.
