117 people baptized in Congo

117 people from Pointe Noire and Dolisie received the Mystery of Holy Baptism at the end of December last year, the Metropolitanate of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon informs.

On December 29, 2018, His Eminence Panteleimon, Metropolitan of Brazzaville and Gabon, arrived in Dolisie, where he celebrated the baptism of forty-five catechumens of all ages from the Parish Community “Saint Irene”.

On Monday 24th December 2018, His Eminence Panteleimon, Metropolitan of Brazzaville and Gabon, baptized seventy-two catechumens of all ages in the outdoor baptistry of the under-construction Cathedral of St Dimitrios in Pointe-Noire, who were from the three Parish Communities in the city.

Before the service of the Catechism, His Eminence described and interpreted the stages of the Holy Sacrament and addressed words of paternal advice to the newly-enlightened ones, who are now members of the Church, conveying also to them the joy and blessing of the Ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa and of its Venerable Primate, His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II to them.
